New version is preparing and will contain probably a debugger, mmx support for gpu routines, better GUI and many bug fixes. Also gte routines are working (i have add delay slots and gte opcodes working on). If anyone wants to help in any way with the project just drop me a e-mail.

Additional bleem! tool [11:12 CET] By Bobbi

While surfing the web I found another tool which allows you to control your CD-Rom access speed. It's called "CD Bremse" (engl.: CD brake) and allows you to get your CD-Rom speed even down to 1x. Users with choppy music/video *MAY* get a speedup using this tool.

Get it from the tools1 page or download it directly here (-310k-).

Feel free to send me your results with this tool.

On a sidenote I wanted to mention that Megaman's bleem! support page is back online after one day of downtime (he's the programmer of BleemBoost).

Sony VS. bleem! beta team [23:44 CET] By Bobbi

It's public that Sony if fighting against bleem! right now, and that the next court is located somewhere in April 2000. But now, Emuunlim comes up with some (yet) unverified news :

It has been brought to my attention that bleem beta testers are being contacted by Sony for a second time, this time they are being summoned to court by Sony. A little known fact is that all bleem beta testers were fired about a month ago, some of these fired testers are being contacted by Sony with no warning from bleem. More news on these shocking turn of events as more is known.

Today, Emuunlim made another post, to "clear up things" a bit more :

It has been confirmed that sony is indeed taking bleem to court and calling beta testers from the bleem beta team in to testify. The news is still breaking, im sure bleem will make a statement sometime soon on the current situation ...

Also from my sources this is just the begining of this New Round of Sony Vs Bleem. Beta testers are just starting to get their subpoena's from Sony and are being called into court not to just give evidence. My post above was confirmed with bleem employees, not people who guess on whats going on and delete my posts.

To make things even more complicated, a discussion has been started on bleem!'s UBB here, where DY talks about what HE knows :

In the past, some (all?) testers were subpeaned (sp?) for information... IE : What do you know, what are you hiding, etc.

The current news is stating that the beta testers are now being summoned (to court? for a chat?)... It would be two different instances, though they both ammount to the same thing ... Let me add, nothing is official... I have not been summon`d. EmuUnlim.com posted news, but I do not know where they got that news.

Well, nothing official yet, we'll keep you up to date on the happenings.

LAP review [20:44 CET] By mathew2

Some time after Randy added mouse support to bleem!, I ordered a new mouse to be able to use that function better. But I still wasn't satisfied in the way the mouse worked, so I thought about getting a new mousepad as well. While looking through several different mousepad revies, I found the LAP as winner in most of the competitions and decided to order one and to review it !

Read the review here, thanks to Bobbi for some help with writing it !

The time after the 1.5 release [18:23 CET] By Bobbi

1.5 got released and many things happened with it. First the bleem.com message board went up and down because to many people were downloading it, what caused server problems and they needed every avaible source for more speed. Here's the post from the page :

Due to the overwhelming demand for bleem! v1.5 if our sever is slow or non-responsive you should be able to download bleem from one of the following sites. The Message Board may be up and down through-out the day as the sever needs available resources.

Let's hope they'll fix their server soon. The file is avaible on our server here.

And what's going on with FF8 in bleem! 1.5 ? Here's a post from the bleem! message board from DragonYen, one of the main testers :

3 Current Known Issues with FF8 in v1.5 -- Please let me know of additional problems!

1. Opening (and other) MDECs do not have sound.
2. Opening (and possibly other) MDECs run Jerky/Choppy.
3. Using a GF will cause bleem to hang.

Again, we know about these three issues, post additional problems with FF8 (in bleem!) in THIS THREAD ONLY.

Read the whole message board post here.

1.5 today [11:59 CET] By Bobbi

The long awaited bleem! 1.5 version will, according to a post on bleem.com be out today. People were waiting for this a long time and the feature list is really long. Important things were that the speed limiter is removed now and that bleem! uses an ini file, which allows you to edit database entries yourself. We at psxemu.com will start our own ini file with user submissions soon. That way, we can take some work from the already pretty busy bleem! team.
We'll keep you updated on the happenings here at psxemu.com and will supply you with screenshots of the new features short after the release.

  Bleem.com updated [00:00 GMT] By mathew2

Bleem.com updated! bleem! reported some news regarding the impending release of v1.5:

1.5 Update Don't beleive everything you read - The East Coast PR people got ahead of us on this one and (being 3 hours later there) we were to late to stop the news from hitting the wires.... 1.5 is done, but won't be up until Monday. We were able to include a few more systems in the last round of testing and decided that we needed a few adjustments to optimize the speed limiter for better timing on a wider range of systems. We're running our entire game collection through (again - 500+ games.. ugh) to make sure the database is 100% up-to-date. So far, everything's testing beautifully - stay tuned.

Hopefully by monday everyone will be playing with 1.5!, goto bleem.com and take a look ! Don't forget to discuss this on our messageboards!

  • Do not ask us or other people about images of PlayStation games, those are illegal and such activity causes programmers to loose money. Also copying games, or any commercial products is a crime. If you really love to play a game, check in compatibility list if it is playable on this emulator and go to shop and buy original. Program worth using is a program worth buying.
  • Do not e-mail us stupid questions, like "Why my favorite game is not playable?". We never answer such questions. If you notice a game that is playable and we do not have it on our list, e-mail us as soon as possible.
  • Do not ask us about source code to emulator. We do not give it to you. What we can give is on download page. We already gave you for free a lot of our free time.
Good to know the guys are still alive. Check out the PSEmu page here.

  •   Interview with David H. [21:37 CET] By Bobbi

Sorry that I wasn't able to update yesterday, school kept me busy. Looks like we still might need somebody to post news ... If you're the right one for this, mail me :). Anyway, to the news :

David Herpolsheimer, CEO of bleem, LLC has been interviewed by All Gamers. There're several known facts, but also some new things to the bleem! world :

The reason 1.5 isn't out is that Randy wanted to get FF8 battle menues working in D3D. Kickass idea Randy, and after I talked with several peoples on IRC, all were happy with that idea as well and willing to wait some more days for it. Now they're TARGETING (the date isn't set) for this weekend.
The other interresting point was that David talked about bleem! 2.0 (no joke !). 2.0 will have some very interresting features, although nothing is set in stone yet.
Check out the whole interview (it's a movie) here.

Another bunch of FF8 shots [21:32 CET] By Bobbi

Game reviews up [21:39 CET] By Bobbi

I just uploaded the game reviews section. In this section, you can view reviews of the latest games and how they're running in bleem!. But this section needs YOUR help. If you got a cool game and want to write a review about it, just do it and send it to us. Of cause you can get something for your work. At the end of each month, we're voting the "review of the month", and the editor will get a cool present (maybe a PSX game, maybe a gamepad, maybe something else). Just head over to the Game review section under "Bleem!" on the left and take part !

New PSMac version [18:15 CET] By Bobbi

A new version of the macintosh emu PSMac! got released today.

Not much in the way of new demos working although I have fixed a lot of sprite bugs so most demos that do work, work nice. The Sand demo now works, kinda, there is an anoying flickering which I think relates to the VBL timing, but other than that it works ... You only need to select the ROM file once when PSMac first launches then it should load it automatically. The Code will (Hopefully) compile under Codewarrior Pro 5 now, once you add MiniPrefrences.c to the project. to ask questions.

For more infos, visit the PSMac! homepage, get the file from the Download area.

Emualliance having troubles ? [18:02 CET] By Bobbi

Seems like Emualliance.com has some problems with Sony after they released Jackal, a new PSX emulator. Here's the post from the page :

Rather nasty Sony letter about Jackal and the PSX bios, tried to shut site down etc...lol, well NINTENDA is way too used to this so I got the site back up for good I hope.

Much luck Emualliance. Remember the day Daves VGS got shout down because they had the PSX Bios on their server ?

New PC PSX Controller [17:42 CET] By Bobbi

A new joypad for the PC got released. The special thing about it is that it looks simular to a PSX Dual Shock Controller. With it's two analog ministicks and FF support, it's something every bleem! user was looking for. Check out the review by Gamecenter here.
